Alexander Craghead has a good post up re: the recent local decisions on school funding and the widening of the urban/rural gap.

Update: He also makes a great point about state spending - it's not a partisan thing, it's a self interest thing. I'm sure that the Legislature, instead of facing the current realities, is hoping that a national economic recovery will pull the state out of the fire. If true, that is an expensive bet and we could all end up paying the bill.
